St. Patty's Day

I shot this photo a few weeks ago at a St. Patrick's Day party. I love the big smiles that these ladies have. Rest of my shoot can be viewed on my paper's site.

Music and Religion

Music, itself, appears to me as a religious practice. A musician and his/her instrument has a holistic tie. Beyond that, this young symphony orchestra has a more literal religious connection with their practice, as they got together to pray before the concert or with a Jesus image they can have on one of the instruments. To learn more about the orchestra, please read the related article on Voice of Nosara.

Crystal orbs and gravity

Alto saxophonist Beta from the band, Sonambulo, started their concert with a show of crystal orbs that made one question the gravity. The concert took place at Tierra Magnifica, Nosara, CR on March 19, 2010 as a part of Caricaco Music Festival.

Stella Artois vs. Costa Rica's Craft Brewing Company

Although I don't know much about how to brew beer, I am a big fan of beer. Sometime during my stay in Costa Rica, I am hoping to make a visit to San Jóse and photograph the brewing process at Costa Rica's Craft Brewing Company. Maybe this way I will learn some about the production of this lovely drink, too.

Laura Chinchilla Miranda, President of Costa Rica

President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla Miranda visited School of San Martin in Nicoya on Saturday, February 19. The purpose of the visit was the inauguration of the recycling center that was built in the neighborhood. She tried really hard not to skip anyone, some of the children were still frustrated with not being able to communicate with her. Even when she was leaving around 1:00 p.m, Laura Chinchilla Miranda kept saluting and listening to her citizens.

She is probably the most accesible president I have ever seen. Not that I have seen that many presidents in my life, but still... I would probably get shot or arrested if I got this close to our president to photograph him.

If you would like to do a further reading on her visit, please visit this link.
